| First things first. I did not like Cameron Diaz as an actress. 90% of their films were stupid ... but in reality they were delightful. But "In their shoes," I saw a totally different Cameron Diaz. I saw a great actress, perhaps his best role in a lifetime. The In Her Shoes Drama movie tells a story of 2 sisters, Maggie (Diaz) and Rose (Toni Collette). They are totally different from each other. While Rose is a prominent lawyer, responsible and very shy, Maggie is a lazy, drunken, irresponsible and a small problem, which only wants to spend the money (or stealing) food unnecessary. How they struggle, guilt and love it is really impressive. Cameron and Toni WERE REALLY sisters, and that realism is what I love this movie. You laugh, you cry, you'll learn about love, and you learn about forgiveness. This is one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. Look, the rent, if necessary BUY ... You will not regret, I assure you! |
| I just returned from the room, and I'm still excited about the completion of this film. Throughout the film, actually. I have not read the book, but I am afraid that this In Her Shoes Drama film would be a great cliche about women and their relationships with family. You know, a woman has an ugly sister, makes a lot of trash, and then learns to accept her sister as she is, and meanwhile, the sister realizes that she can not go for wildlife acting, and changes for the better. What I found was an incredibly moving story about love in its many forms. There is family love, romantic love is, it's love itself, all in just the right way - not cloying or saccharine. Everything was perfect pitch. I always wanted to Toni Collette, Cameron Diaz and ... well, I feel that I have not given a chance before its present. Shirley MacLaine was wonderful, and Mark Feuerstein as well. It is a beautiful movie, and all applauded in the theater when I was - how often does that happen? |
| Pleasant but a bit weak in his shoes is deeper than a chick-movie in the handling of the characters. Toni Collette is excellent as usual, and Shirley MacLaine, but I could not help thinking while watching that I have read the book is based on and get a deeper look at these people and their lives. I felt the In Her Shoes film could have gone more in depth and expected to be longer, as many plot developments somewhat simplified to accommodate all of them at a time of 2 hours. That is my main criticism of the film, but in general was nice and I had a wonderful time watching. Some other things I liked: the Rocky reference (my favorite), and during the opening credits sequence. I credit this as a screenwriter and director of this amazing opening, which provides in terms completely visual themes of the film. The titles are presented in the cuts between the two sisters, both stressing their conflicts and their relationship to one another. In general, it has a good balance between gravity and death in light of the theater, but I would like to comment further. |
| In Philadelphia, the irresponsible and selfish Maggie (Cameron Diaz) is an easy drunk woman having sex with many men. Her sister Rose (Toni Collette) is the opposite, but need a lawyer and having responsible complex compulsively buy shoes for their frustrations relief. Maggie is evicted from his home by his father, stepmother and her sister Rosa home in his apartment. When Maggie has a boyfriend the night with Rose, her sister Rosa sent away. Find letters and postcards missing his grandmother Ella Hirsch (Shirley MacLaine) they thought they had killed one who lives in retirement in Florida compound hidden in the drawer of her father, and without any options, she decides to travel to meet with her. With her, Maggie changes into another woman and the improvement of the relations of his family. "In Her Shoes" is a feel-good comedy with an excellent trio of lead actresses.
