| First, I just want to say it's a wonderful work of Melanie Griffith did in this movie! She lights up the screen. Like the other reviewer said, was a series of great performances. Lolita, Another day in paradise, Crazy in Alabama, RKO 281, Cecil B. Insane, and now this. I'm so happy for Melanie has found that the role and has his life on track. The story was big and kind of reminds me of the old romance movies. Everything is fine, with only a twinge of romance. The end leaves a smile on your face! Its just disappointing that it was in theaters, but then again, the public can not decide what is good, classy entertainment. Instead, we have garbage like Scary Movie 2 and Nutty Professor invading cinemas and millions of people. Congratulations to the cast, director, and most Melanie. This is a keeper! |
| I agree that this should not have been a comedy, should not have been a tragedy. Of course there are moments of comedy, but it is a fantastic, sensitive, deep work that delves into the places most of us do not want to think. I've been a fan of Patrick Swayze for many years. He is able to get to a place deep inside himself to handle a wide variety of characters and this, so the nail on the head. You can see his love, different kinds of love and conflict, both internal and external. The story deals with a subject that is very common, however, all too often swept under the rug, schizophrenia and mental illness. I was amazed at how the screenwriters, actors and directors and producers on this issue. Handled with sensitivity, intelligence and was not stereotypical for the most part. It showed how one person, if well medicated can be "normal" of course what is normal? Melanie Griffin if absolutely incredible. She represents the main character with an incredible sense of humanity, grace and depth. She is perfect for the role and get to somewhere that she had never been made within it. I am going to see his films in a new light now. This is an incredible piece of work, brilliantly done, with class and elegance. |
| If you have lived or similar, then you would appreciate this story much more powerful ... I am pleased that it is only for the chosen few, as it is heartbreaking. My story is not the same, but it has too many similarities for comfort. These things happen and before you start screaming and acting on the content and production, try to think of some others here that can mean a lot. I understand and agree on some of the dialogue, but not in a superficial way and only in the immediate area as a source of entertainment. This is a profound and moving story well told. The dialogue could improve, but tell me one Forever Lulu Romance where perfection in the script, the DivX Movie Forever Lulu can not be improved somewhat.
