| This is an all-time favorite of mine. Yes, it has its faults but it is what it is - stealing a roaring, clumsy, comedy classic. I must have seen at least 6 times. The late Richard Pryor was a genius of comedy and gelled brilliantly with Gene Wilder. It is a sad, sad shame that health deteriorated with the onset of MS, which culminated in his tragic death yesterday (December 10, 2005). Stir Crazy was the 2nd biggest Stir Crazy Comedy film of 1980 in my opinion (true DVD movie Stir Crazy buffs will know that was the biggest of the year). Fans of the DivX Movie Stir Crazy should also see the bottom, but still fun See No Evil, Hear no evil see collaboration Wilder and Pryor lit again for the third time, after Stir Crazy and Silver Streak before. |
| In short, one of the greatest films of all time friends. Pryor and Wilder were great together. At least for the first two films together. Pryor and Wilder are two types funny wrongly convicted of robbery of a bank. |
| I recently bought a DVD-recorder. As a trick of the store are sold at a special price, along with a selection of DVD movies. One of these DVD's is "Stir Crazy." I saw the DVD film Stir Crazy again, this time with my 13 year old son and a friend. The boys were rolling on the floor with laughter, so I can say that this is a timeless comedy that never ages. The Stir Crazy Comedy movie always leaves me with a good feeling and I've seen that still works, even with the kids these days. The performance is excellent, the dialogue funny continually convincing the prison environment and additional credit should go to JoBeth Williams' small-but the heat from the heat. Guaranteed to bring a little sunshine for a rainy day. |
