On November 16, 1959, Truman Capote reads about the murder of a Kansas family. There are no suspects. With Harper Lee, he visits the town: he wants to write about their response. First he must get locals to talk, then, after arrests, he must gain access to the prisoners. One talks constantly; the other, Perry Smith, says little. Capote is implacable, wanting the story, believing this book will establish a new form of reportage: he must figure out what Perry wants. Their relationship becomes something more than writer and character: Perry killed in cold blood, the state will execute him in cold blood; does Capote get his story through cold calculation, or is there a price for him to pay?

Surprisingly, I enjoyed "Infamous," with Toby Jones, even more than last year, "Capote" (the one with Philip Seymour Hoffman, who is also excellent). This is partly because this version shows more of Truman Capote's delightful charm and its internal turmoil and complexities of his character. Toby Jones deserved an Oscar nomination for his performance surprisingly objective. All outstanding performances, especially Sigourney Weaver, Hope Davis, Sandra Bullock, Peter Bogdonavich, and in particular, Daniel Craig (the new James Bond) and Perry, one of the murderers of "In Cold Blood." If I had a slight objection, would be the scene in the cell where something unusual happens. (Try not to give anything away ... just say it's a brief but intense scene.) I do not think there is any evidence to suggest that this took place. However, it does not detract from my overall enjoyment of the film. I can also recommend a book that was based on George Plimpton's very entertaining collection of anecdotes, "Truman Capote: in which various friends, enemies, acquaintances and detractors recall his turbulent career."
Infamous is by far the best DVD movie Infamous about Truman Capote. I saw this DivX Movie Infamous in Venice, where the public gave him a standing ovation 15 minutes. There is much that is brilliant about this film. The cast is perfect. This movie: Infamous shows the characters more than the previous Infamous movie and each one is played by a pretty competent player. INFAMOUS is one of the most effective and unique films I've seen in a long time. It treats its subject with humor but also with emotional depth. I was shocked by the way Truman. His relationship with Perry Smith is a complex and heartbreaking. Daniel Craig walks a fine line between sympathy and dangerous. He is a true artist talented. Doug McGrath, DVD movie Infamous production is brave and true to itself in every way. Toby Jones is the perfect Truman. I was familiar with him as an actor and totally amazed by his incredible performance and smooth. I'm telling you Toby Jones is Oscar material.
Capote forget! This Infamous Biography film version blows Bennett Miller out of the water. Not taking anything away from Hoffman performance, but Toby Jones as Truman Capote is amazing afternoon makes me understand her pain and love and guilt of Perry Smith and his disappearance. This is achieved from all legitimately a real place, not a "pull-my-heart-Ron-Howard-music-fan" type of way. The scene after his return from his collaboration with Perry and the change of emotions we see in Jones' face reminds Diane Lane for "train sequence in the infidel. Amazing. Sandra Bullock and ... Where have you been hiding? Please Academy, do not be afraid to honor the Infamous Biography movie as close to its predecessor.
I just saw this DVD movie Infamous at the Venice Film Festival. I liked a lot. It is not a masterpiece, and sometimes it is hard not to compare with the other "Capote" movie. This, however, is more fun than the other principal, and some options are interesting. The cast is fantastic (Toby Jones, Sandra Bullock in a surprisingly, women enjoy Supportings Lee Pace and Daniel Craig) and the technical credits are more than stellar. The script is sometimes a little cliché, but nothing alarming. The 5-minute cheeres at the end of the projection (with Bullock, Jones, McGrath, Toniolo in attendance, among others) demonstrates that it was not the only one who liked it.
