| Everyone associated with the production value of this is due to an apology to the author of the original short story, as well as the great writer, Robert Riskin. When the original figure of wit, wisdom, good acting, credible situations, etc, etc, etc, this empty vessel of the DVD film Mr. Deeds to dozens harshness harshness without a trace of humor. Do not waste a minute in this travesty. |
| Adam Sandler is consolidating its position as "less mouth Hollywood Star" with this truly awful remake of a true classic Hollywood. Sandler plays Longfellow Deeds, a small town schnook who inherits an incredible lot of money. He became another of his patented performance as the dim-smart loser. Nothing like Gary Cooper in the charm of the original function was purely by accident. Unfortunately, much better actors Peter Gallagher and Winona Ryder was caught in the maelstrom Sandler delivery charactiures little tired Gothamites. Nicholas Turturro only to have fun, but got lost in the shuffle. It is two hours of my life ever again. |
| The remake of Frank Capra's masterpiece of 1936 "Mr. events is the city" does not have the charm, heart and intelligence of the production. The title character (Adam Sandler) inherits an outrageous fortune to a relative who did not even know about New York and led by opportunistic sordid Peter Gallagher Sandler try to take advantage of the generosity and kindness towards others. Sandler is obviously much smarter than first appears and proves to be a person who can handle crooks. However, do not let our guard down around his alleged school nurse Winona Ryder (actually a reporter for a tabloid) and that is when your big city problems start. "Mr. Deeds" is watchable and entertaining Mr. Deeds Romance film which works because the screen Sandler person. Sandler movies still posed duds are only for his enormous talent. The same goes with this. Look for "Fargo" alums Steve Buscemi and Harve Presnell as well as a cameo by former tennis superstar John McEnroe. 2.5 of 5 stars. |
| I'm normally a fan of Adam Sandler, and I like his films, but far from the comedy I was expecting and as I have seen in his other films. The entire first half of this DivX Movie Mr. Deeds is not funny at all. The second half is comedy, but not even close to as much as 20 minutes of Happy Gilmore. This Mr. Deeds movie could have been much better than it was, and I was disappointed after spending $ 6 to see this movie, if I had known I was going to be bad, I would have paid $ 6, not to see it. |
| The only comedy I remember watching Adam Sandler's "Anger", which was quite horrible. I know that one should not be anything profound in his films and his kind of comedy is not particularly attractive to me. For some reason, I do not know what, I decided to see "Mr. Deeds." Perhaps he expected me to laugh a little. You should have seen "Spaced" instead (which was the original plan). The Mr. Deeds Romance really drags in the first 45 minutes and "comedy" is not funny. The chemistry between the couple is unconvincing lead. All the romance angle is pretty boring. Sandler seems to be playing a "best" version of himself. Winona seeing the comical appearance in the television series' Friends', I would have expected better from her. However, it seems really uncomfortable in the first reel (ironically the film: Mr. Deeds was only after the trial against him) and hams in the last half. John and Peter Gallagher Torturro are quite good in their roles. I really enjoyed Torturro and Sandler shared scenes. Conchata Ferell was fun, too. It might be a wise decision to do something else unless they absolutely have nothing better to do. |

While living in a mansion with a strange butler Spanish, things get better for the facts when it meets an attractive school nurse is actually a lucrative TV producers called Babe Benett who falls in love with the facts and taking things an unexpected turn. Although the plot is simple DVD movie Mr. Deeds humor adds to the complexity and the fun that Adam Sandler brings to most of the films stars comdey in. |
