This is one of the best comedy there was in the days when John Landis is still good. It is brilliant, bursting with scenes for lovers of action and loads of hilarious lines to recite. I see myself doing this a lot. Who can not resist Eddie Murphy's foreign exchange student or disguise Lionel Josef Ackroyd. The monkey on the train is a thigh-slapper too. For a comedy that has a great plot and a running time but is a bit dated. Please however, do not remake. Leave this DivX Movie Trading Places on its own as evidence that Ackroyd, Murphy and Landis were brilliant at what they did. |
Really wonderful, from the opening to score the final credits, this Trading Places movie surpasses all expectations that you want to throw John Landis. The Murphy / Ackroyd combination is perfect, and with excellent support from Curtis and Elliot, is laughter in abundance. Murphy is truly in his element as the fast talking Billy Valentine-Ray, while Ackroyd excels in the pomp of Louis Winthorpe III. But it is perhaps the model of "incidental" actors that really separate this film. The two drawbacks are a wonderful black double act - something as small and large, not small. Meanwhile, Denholm Elliot as Coleman is your best scathingly brilliant. See this movie, enjoy, and then watch it again! |
When it comes to great movies of comics, nobody remembers the magic between Murphy and Aykroyd in Trading Places. In the early 80s, Eddie Murphy was considered the funniest black comedian Richard Pryor along. Dan Aykroyd was one of the greats of all time the cast of Saturday Night Live. Both players started on SNL and were ready to make his career in cinema. Trade Point is a perfect example of a comedy. It is curious, yes, but there's so much more. With its history, acting, and the political, racial, economic and plots in the Trading Places Comedy movie add to its greatness. One of the best comedies from the 1980s, it stands as one of best films Eddie Murphy, as well as the Aykroyd performances as a character actor. A wonderful and just good family film. If you are that kind of family that is. |
Top flight comedy directed by John Landis. Two businessmen millionaire (Ralph Bellamy and Don Ameche) are having fun with a brother who bet around effect behavior. To prove this to pull all the strings are his nephew, a snobbish investor (Dan Aykroyd), to trade places with a canny, intelligent mouth street hustler (Eddie Murphy). It is a well-written laugh riot. The jokes are facing high and low brow with absolutely disgusting. And be prepared for an online free for all. Murphy steals the show. There is a very talented cast. Denholm Elliott is the butler who provides the humor dry. Class Jamie Lee Curtis is a "lady of the streets" and causes a freeze frame a few moments that are hard to forget. They are also notable Holby Kristin and James Belushi. Rock 'n' roll legend Bo Diddley has a cameo as a pawnbroker. A wealth of enjoyment in the fun, fun, funny! |
