Following the death of his employer and mentor, Bumpy Johnson, Frank Lucas establishes himself as the number one importer of heroin in the Harlem district of Manhattan. I'm gonna make this short, because the Lord knows that this movie: American Gangster does not deserve the attention. Denzel Washington ... oh look Denzel is playing ... um ... Denzel? Yes, I said it. I have not seen any kind of a story that was "fascinating" or "intriguing." There was no "emotional rollercoaster" going on here. I love movies, no matter what, but this seems too long to be so helpless. No twists, no surprises, very cut and dry. If you've seen a gangster American Gangster film quite seen all, with the exception of true classics like Scarface, Goodfellas and The Godfather. And if you've seen a Denzel movie: American Gangster once you've seen too many times!

After seeing the DivX Movie American Gangster were curious about Frank Lucas and read the "New York" magazine article written by him in 2000. Article realized that much more interesting a biography of Mr. Lucas. I wonder why the production of power that it was decided to make "American Gangster" as boring, ineffective police pursuing gangster film? Denzel Washington and it seemed a poor fit for the role of Mr. Lucas .... too polished for a decidedly rough-around the edges of drugs angle. Ugh. Loss of money. Go read the "New York" of an article more vivid gangster story.
