| The "error" scenes - giant alien creatures - earrings and really made this film: Starship Troopers watchable. Unfortunately, we had to wade through the first hour of the 130-minutes to reach the big action scenes, and had to endure a lot of young, immature and very annoying characters and actors. Look what you have: Casper Vandi, Dina Meyer, Denise Richards, Jake Busey ..... oh, man, what a bunch of Snotty, young actors and stupid. Everyone has chips on their shoulders and dialogue between them is so stupid, it could only be a Paul Verhoeven-directed film. No surprise! Verhoeven's films seem to be on the seedy side, to say the least. Along the way, you can expect to hear his atheist heavy-handedness, and this film: Starship Troopers is no exception. There is a cheap shot at Mormons, a plug or two for the development and normal PC baloney bit difficult for women and men take charge slugs! Puh-Leez, this is so disgusting. Fortunately, the second half of this saving to be a total waste of time with some fantastic action scenes are futuristic jaw-dropping at times. It is difficult to imagine that this DivX Movie Starship Troopers is about 10 years old, but great special effects and even more fun. Skip the first hour. |
| This, to say the least, was a complete and total disappointment. Heinlein's novel - this movie: Starship Troopers supposedly based on - is one of the best Heinlein. Like many of his other books, including "Have spacesuit, Will Travel," "Starship Jones, The Rolling Stones," is a coming of age novel is the story of Juan Rico, a high school kid who decides joining the military as soon as it turns 18. As the novel progresses, we see the character grow and change and face the horrors of combat, and personal disaster: the loss of close friends, her mother's death. On the other hand, however, this novel is also the human race. Again, as in some other Heinlein books, is also a work of political philosophy. In this case, how the human race developed a truly rational moral philosophy, society has changed as a result, the philosophy and how it affects the lives of people living at that time. It also addresses the issue of how the human race fight and ultimately win their first war against a foreign enemey. The DVD movie Starship Troopers completely ruined all this. This book became another festival special effects, with much blood, gore, and death, following a group of adolescent future having the same kind of fun to kill bugs, as in a high school football. I have no doubt that the author finds a way to come back and haunt the producers, writers, and director of this festival drek for the rest of his natural life. |
| This is probably the most amazing Starship Troopers movie I've seen in that year (1997). I first saw that the first week it came out and thought it was too long. Then I saw again a couple of weeks later and thought it was perfect. Nearly 2 years after the DVD film Starship Troopers left me a copy of the book and read it. I read the book in a week and not in control. The book is absolutely phenomonal. It was annoying in the DVD movie Starship Troopers for all you did. <<<<< >>>>> SPOILERS First Lieutenant in the book is already dead, while the DivX film Starship Troopers is still alive. Also, all the characters mentioned in the book are men, but women in the DivX film Starship Troopers (not to look sexist guess). The book is told from the perspective of first person of Johnny Rico, but the Starship Troopers film is not. It is a very, very wrong to compare the Starship Troopers movie to the book. Please, if you've never seen this movie, but I read the book, do not look at this as an adaptation. Will go to the end of sanity. This DVD movie Starship Troopers is completely and totally well done, although the performance could have been better. I recommend this DVD movie Starship Troopers to anyone who has not read the book, but if you read the book, no, do not take seriously this film, please. 5 / 5 (purchase value) |
| Starship Troopers was a great disappointment. The book, written many years ago by Robert Heinlein, is a classic. When I learned that a Starship Troopers movie is going to do, I was enthusiastic. Ended very badly but a tribute to a great author. The one saving grace of the movie: Starship Troopers is special effects. I must admit I was impressed by them. But the soap horrible acting and insipid arguments ultimately ruined the Starship Troopers movie for me. I'm glad for the good of Heinlein that has nothing to do this crap to steal the name of your wonderful work. |
