| Even the most casual of sleuths as a day of rest and Warner Oland as Charlie Chan, just wanted a day to spend with his family in the circus. But in reality, it appears that one of the partners who owned the circus had hired to examine some veiled threats that had been receiving from unknown sources. So the Chan family, all 14 of them, going to the circus and do not know, the guy who hires Charlie ends up murdered. And Charlie has a whole circus full of suspects. OLAND enters the case at the behest of the performers, especially two dwarves played by George and Olive Brasno. The police are holding the circus, until the murder is solved, but that in itself bankrupt if they do not show dates. It's nice to see Charlie in a family reunion, even if it could not escape the need for their services. Keye Luke as usual is the number one bumptious son Charlie who has to maintain the supply of fortune cookie wisdom for all the time. This is a good, if the average entry in the series of Charlie Chan. |
| I am a big fan of Charlie Chan, the owner of all of Warner Oland / Sidney Toler episodes I can find and enjoy them, but that does not automatically mean that all are wonderful. This is a good but disappointing considering how much better could have been. They are not your usual comic moments with Keye Luke as Number One Son and Charlie had a lot of sayings, but are not particularly profound or humorous, so-so. One thing different is the co-actor in real life "small people" circus artists, George and Olive Brans, who were actors as well. With a setting like the circus, and the Chan family all there (a dozen children) who could have all sorts of interesting scenarios, but out of a scene quickly and becomes a monkey making noise a couple of times, not much happened . This story was simply globally by the end of 10 minutes. The end was very clever, but it was a case of too little, too late. In general, it is not a bad film, but there is an "edge" of this murder mystery is lost. |
| Charlie Chan at the Circus is a pretty standard entry in the series that tries to use the circus as exotic local. The plot concerns the death of one man circus. The main suspects are employees of the tent and a monkey who has escaped. The Charlie Chan at the Circus Comedy film uses the circus as a tangent, as when Charlie visits the dwarves. The action is very relaxed and calm, creating a pleasant view, and Charlie and Lee walk to the train circus. The detective work is quite good and has several twists. Almost all the Warner Oland Chan movie: Charlie Chan at the Circus is at least passable. This is not one of his best, but it's a fun distraction. 6.5/10 |
| Fans of the Charlie Chan Charlie Chan at the Circus film you should see this Charlie Chan at the Circus Comedy for one reason in particular - is a very rare opportunity to see the whole huge clan Chan in one movie. In most Chan movies, there are one or two children with Chan to "help" (?) For his father. However, there are also twelve Mrs. Chan - a true rarity Charlie and the evidence that had interests other than the police! | If you're like me, you see, because those old detective movies of the 30 year history are important. It can also be really happy for the notes from another cultural world. But for me, that I have on my list and seeing movies about the circus are special tricks to pull, and the cinematic vocabulary special troop. This is hardly a real circus or feeling content, except that there are dwarves, a gorilla, and an attack on a trapeze. The gorilla is almost mandatory in these movies cheap. The humor in this case (spoiler) is that the animal is clearly a guy in a gorilla suit. The murderer is a man who is posing as the "real" gorilla suit and carrying a little cheaper gorilla. All residues that part. But you might want to see the brothers play - and are - the dwarves. Brother and sister, who became a success on Broadway and I have not read. The girl of 18 years and this is really pretty. She's not an accomplished actress, but as she is playing in all respects, it really looks real and endearing, especially next to the old white guy aping what he thinks are the Chinese ways.
